We are not the cheapest, but neither are we the most expensive, but we do give the best value for what we charge. There are many ways to cut corners in the plumbing service industry, as we believe people want quality service (something that I think a lot of companies have forgotten about these days) without cutting corners so that is what we strive to provide!
One way we strive to provide that service is by drug testing and doing criminal background checks on all of our employees. Unfortunately, the world we live in has a huge problem with drugs and crime and the plumbing industry is no exception to this. I want to make sure that any technician I send out on one of my trucks, into our clients’ homes’, I would have no problem sending into my own home (I have a wife and three small children) to complete work. We are one of the only companies that advertise being drug-free and having a criminal background check on each employee. I wonder why this is? Or, even a better question, are you willing to take the chance with your family? I’m not.
Another way that we strive to give the best service is by offering our true 24/7 service. Many companies advertise they are 24/7, but are they really? If you were to call all the companies that advertise 24/7 service at 2:00 am, very few of them even answer the phone. At Action Auger, we answer the phone by a real live person 24 hours a day and not just by an answering service that says someone will call them back, but by an actual Action Auger employee who can actually help you.
The plumbing industry is constantly changing with new and better ways to do things. To become a journeyman plumber is a four year program, but even after that, there is still so much to learn. I believe that one person could not possible learn all there is to learn in the plumbing trade. One thing we do over and above the four year program where a lot of plumbers stop is we train our guys virtually every morning from 7:00 am to 8:00 am on things pertaining to our industry. This makes a great knowledgeable technician when they come out to your home that is able to fix and do a great job of taking care of your problem in a quick and effective way.
One of the big worries I have when the consumer picks a company solely off price, is what is that company missing to be that cheap? One of the ways to drive price down that is easy to hide is not having proper insurance or no insurance at all. Very few people ever ask to see a company’s insurance; they just take it for granted that everyone has it. Unfortunately, not everyone does have it. Who do you think pays for a flood from poor work a plumber did with no insurance? Probably, not that plumber. He just changes company names and starts up again under a new name, leaving you holding the bill.
These are just a few things we do to give the best customer service and work for our clients. I could go on all day, but I won’t bore you. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. What are you willing to leave out if you solely go by price?
I am proud to say that we give a 5% seniors discount those that have been on this earth a substantial period of time to deserve it! I am also proud to say that we try to make a modest profit each year and provide an income for our employees and their families. I don’t think that profit is a bad word and our goal is 10% profitability on jobs. When we go out and do a $200 job, we hopefully take 10% of that which is $20. I don’t think $20 is too much to ask for when we provide quality service after all costs are paid. When we have the privilege to do work for a senior, we give them half of our profit off which is a 5% discount, which I believe is fair. I think in the world today, we hear of big corporations like banks making billions in profits and we group all companies together. The truth is, we are families, like yours, trying to provide and make an honest living.
