Centex Homes Centex / Pulte Homes Roof leaks and other problems Manalapan, New Jersey

We have owned our Centex Inverness home for almost 3 years now and have been having leaks in the roof.  Looks like around pipe vents and possible nail holes in the shingles.  The warranty division of Centex/Pulte refuses to send someone to come and fix these, as they claim the two year warranty is over and the roof does not fall under structural problems.  Many new Centex homes in our neighborhood have had similar problems with their roofs leaking.  Their solution was to climb into the attic and put plastic tarps down to catch the rain water.  On dryer days, the rain water will eventually evaporate !!  They are unbelievable.  We spent close to $2 million on building this home and the roof leaks in under 3 years.  Previously we owned a home which we built for 17 years and never had a roof leak.   

Separately from this current issue, we also have had underpowered furnaces installed intially, which Centex had to switch out inevitably and freezing pipes in the master bedroom bathroom, due to what they tell us are design flaws in the cantelevered master bedroom bath in colder areas.  Stay as far away from building a home with Centex as you possibly can.
