I bought a carport from Eagle Carports and was that a mistake!! I had a appointment to have installed Oct.15-2010 which was Friday, at about noon ,wrong they did not show up till 6:45 pm right at dusk. I had called Eagle Carports about every hour or two till they closed at 5:30 pm. I was told everytime I called they would be there shortly !
When the crew finally showed up their were three of them. Only one of them did speak a little english which made it hard to talk too. I finally got him to understand where the carport was to be placed hour 45min. later complete dark it .They up by truck lite &flashlite in the dark in another hour.
I called 13 days latter Oct.-18 to tell them that the carport was loose ( everytime the wind blows it moves back and forth over 3 in.) I was told that I needed to have windbraces installed which and that would fix my problem. So I told them to do it I was told that it would cost $10 each brace. It took another 26 days for them to ever show up Nov.12 which they were late again for time schedule by a 4 hours. The windbraces were installed and paid for. The brace did help till the wind started to blow a few days latter . The carport is loose again . So I call again talking to the same man it's now Nov.17 .He told me that he would have to talk to manager to see what he could do than call me back.
I never got a call back, so I called him Nov.22 Now I'm told that my 30 day warranty is up and that the carport is suppose to move back & forth that is normal. And their suggestion to correct this problem is that I should put bolts throught top & bottom of each post that might fix my problem or maybe set a post in concrete at each corner. Of course this is after I have paid for them to construct it properly. But either way i'm screwed because they arent going to do anything about it because I signed for the building when it was installed which through words of manipulation put me as the consumer SCREWED because i am disabled and not in the physical shape to do this myself which is why i spent over $1,200.00. So now I am expected if I want this structure to be sturdy enough that I apparently have to hire someone else to finish the job that I have already paid to be done. Or let the building fall down on my truck.
