We moved into our home at the end of march 2001. This was two weeks after the first walk through. None of the defects noted on walk through had been repaired. The defects were things like leaks under the sinks, one entire room not painted, cabinet doors crooked, black spots in carpet, foot prints in the side walk, drive way and garage floor, windows would not open and doors would not close. The builder promised to fix these things the day before we would start to move in. That evening we went to the home to inspect and found that the work had just been rushed the unpainted room still had spots with no paint, but they did manage to paint the carpet through out the house.

After moving in the problems keep coming. Things like dry wall joints did not have tape and started to crack corners of door trim and base boards started showing large spaces because the filler used was coming out, sliding door could barely be opened and bathroom door would not close.

The worst thing was the plaster was cracking and coming off the house we were told that was normal and they would put some paint on the bad spots and fix it right up. We did not stand for this and had to continue to complain until they brought a rep from the stucco manufacture out and he said this was normal. We continued to complain and they finaly brought a non bias inspector out that reported the stucco was two soft and would need to be replaced. This took several months to settle they finaly finished most of the stucco repairs around Thankgiving 2001 but have failed to complete the job yet.

Now we have discovered mold growing around door frames and window frames as well as a few other things. The warranty department still has no idea what has been done on our home and what has not. This is because they keep loosing the papers. This is not all the problems we have, but there is not enough space to put down everything.

Forecast Homes lots of defects no warranty or customer service

AUTHOR: - ()

After a year and a half we are still waiting for Forecast Homes to complete warranty repairs on our home.We have had around 50 warranty issues some major and some minor. They have repaired some items 3 or 4 times before they were repaired right and some we just fixed our selves because they still were not right after several attempts by Forecast to repair. At this point and time we have large repairs to a brand new stucco job that is not done properly and remains unpainted to this date. We have had nothing but trouble with Forecast. We would be interested in exchanging information with other Forecast Home owners. Linda & Steve LAPARRIS65@AOL.COM
