Well, I read this opinion while I was considering employment with Jasper Contractors and, like everything written on algore's Internet, I took as an opinion. Like the anus, everyone has one.
Having many years of sales and sales management experience much of it in the B2B & D2D world, I was initially very interested in the Account Manager position. Then I met the corporate guys doing the interview and I became more confident.
Next, the training began. The Corp sales trainer, some guy named Kirk, is one of the best I have encountered. He really knows, and can teach, how to knock on doors. He is a great representative for the company, and he is clearly honest and forthright in his dealings with his fellow man.
Then along came the National Sales Manager. Once again I was impressed. This guy is not only really knowledgeable and deeply experienced in the business of selling and teaching sales people, he is a cool guy.
So after the short days of in-class training, we hit the field. Our 4 person crew wrote 32 deals in 3 days. So, for the guy who thinks 10 a week would be difficult for anyone, watch this. I know I can and will write 3-5 deals a day @ 6 days a week (yes, this is a heavy work and long hour gig) that is 18-30 a week. We know that all of them will not come to fruition, so let's just say 60% survive to produce the company a 28% of net and leave me, the hard-working and hungry sales person my cut....even at the worst-case scenario outlined by the quitter guy who filed this ROR which is $192, well let's do the math. 60% of 18 deals would be $2073.60 and 60% of 30 deals(which has been done, btw) would produce a paycheck of $3456.00 which would be my best week ever, and I have had a considerable amount of success in sales. That is a flippin' huge week, right? (just remembered that I have made more than 3k in a week-probably only twice tho)
So, at the real number of about $400 per deal, which may be on the high side, but still, just double those numbers. 4k - 7k in a week is just about impossible to earn in any profession. Only the highest echelon of producers in the most profitable industries can earn that pay.
Granted, as of today, I have not received a check, so if this turns out to be inflated, impossible, untrue, etc., I will be logging in here to tell about it. I can tell you that I am driving a brand new truck with brand new everything I need to be successful, to wit, GPS, ladder, tools, computer, BlackBerry, oh yeah, and a fuel card! Don't forget the salary/base....come on people, this is a dream job!
Whiners, quitters, cry baby order takers need not apply. Winners, producers, achievers bring it on, I am gonna need some competition to keep me focussed.
