Jim Walter Homes (Mid-state Homes) ripoff business from hell. I do not see how it's legal for a company to be able to do this. Cayce South Carolina

I am writing this on the behalf of my parents because they do not believe this will do any good.

My parents lost their house after almost 12 years of living there, it started out with the land not being parceled out the way it should have been. It was suppose to be close to 2 acres then after about a year the people next door proceeds to tell us that was not our land it was theirs.

I called Jim Walter's and they stated, "not our problem", so we went to court on this and all they did was reduce the payment of the house by $100.00 a month. Then my father had broke his neck in 1996 and he kept up the house payments to date til that happened. He ran about a month behind on his payments they were made but he was still late.

Then came the incident about how our insurance was not good enough then they took out their on ins. Then my father let my brother live in the house because he was in therapy in Ga.

After about 5 years my father recieved a settlement for his accident. He sent in 6 months worth of payments because he was behind 2 months from his personal bank account and started sending them every month on time then about 4 months ago we get a letter in the mail with the uncashed checks that my father had sent them and we were told that we either had to pay the house off in full plus lawyers and court fees or they were going to foreclose on the house. Needless to say they did and gave us 2 weeks to get everything out and never got eviction notice house went up for sell and was sold for less money than they owed. I do not see how this is legal for a well known company to be able to do this but I guess if you have the money you can do anything.
