KB Homes BPP Holdings ripoff Nationwide Worldwide

News about KB suing its customers and others who speak up is all over the internet and news. This company would rather spend its money on intimidation tactics and legal BS, and clog up the court with frivolous suits, than just produce well built homes and take care of warranty service issues.

I am surprised that there aren't more complaints on this builder on the Rip off Report...but it does seem that there are enough really angry people that they have put up their own pages on this.

One I remember is www.kbhomesucks.com If the site owner still has it up, he published the "offer" this builder gave him, and its outrageous...talk about treading on people's right to free speech...this offer would have required that others not even in this case be brought into it, from what it looks like. Hmmm...let's see, who else uses tactics like that...the mafia?

I was doing some research on kb homes because I saw their infomercial on TV and they have been building like crazy in the Sacramento and Elk Grove, CA area. I'm so glad I did not buy a KB Home earlier. But I do feel sorry for all the consumers that did. I did a google search on "KB homes and Complaints" and the website:

and it is crazy that they are even in business with the crap that they do to their customers. Before you buy a KB Homes, you need to check this website out. And if you still buy a KB house after reading the stuff at this website, then you are too stupid and you deserve what's coming to you.

Not sure why the link didn't show up in my first post, but I found it again easily on google.com by searching for BPP KB Home, no quotation marks, and it was still online. It is from WOAI.com, and it was titled "Homeowners Say Problems Not Disclosed," and published May 16th, 2003. BPP is a "holding company," that bought the KB buy-backs. They were sold without disclosure or proper repair of the defects, to unsuspecting buyers. Buyers should always get a qualified home inspector for any home purchase, even on a newly built house. But if defects are concealed, even an inspector can't see them.

I have been involved in this issue of defective construction and breach of warranty regarding any/all builders for about 5 yrs now. HADD.com has been very helpful to me in my own case, as has this site. I only wish I'd found the sites BEFORE I bought, not after. If I had not gotten online I would never have found them. I really feel the worst for people who don't have the advantage of internet research when researching builders or trying to fight a builder in a case. IMO the internet is vitally important to consumers. Is it any wonder that corporate America wants to squelch our freedom of speech on the net? Thankfully there've been some court decisions upholding our right to free speech regarding internet consumer complaints.

KB has shut down kbhomesuck.com, suing the owner for use of their "trademark" name. The site is now registered to a bogus 3rd party - check the DNS entry.

KB also has bought up most of the other negative domain names.

If you publically list issues, prepared to be sued.

KB has been fined by the FTC and HUD for all sorts of issues.

KB neighborhoods are the slums of the future.. Go see an "established" KB neighborhood that is a few years old - look at the history of foreclosures the abundance of rental property and general condition of the neighborhood.

KB sold homes to people in my neighborhood, not disclosing full taxable amounts. Some people were "marginally" qualified for the mortgage, and after a year they owed back taxes and had a significant mortgage increase... Many foreclosed and resulted in a loss of value for all.

My home sold for $149k when new (2000).
In 2006, it sold for $136k, in great shape, with over $8000 in custom work - flooring, new paint, etc.
