Mcdonald Construction ripoff poor construction and does not stand behind work Apple Valley Minnesota

Mcdonald construction built our house between November 1993 and January 1994. They had the house painted in January of 1994 on a day with a high temp of -15 degrees (yes that is 15 below zero) and a low of -30 degrees. Obveously the paint job did not work. over the next 8 years they either repainted or touched up the paint job 5 times.

The paint never stayed on the house. The paint cans say right on the lable that you should not paint if the temp is below 50 degrees. We spent the next two years having them dodge our phone calls. We finally took them to court after ten years of trying to handle it ourselves. The court had such a hard time trying to find a judge that did not have a bias against Mcdonald that they had to have a family court judge hear the case because that judge was the only one that they could find.

Mcdonald even admitted to the court that it was wrong to have painted our house when they did. We did not win because it was too late. Mcdonald had put us off just long enough to have escaped the statute of limitations. To add to our problems when we had to re-roof our house we found that Mcdonald also took short cuts on the roof. Our roofer showed us the shortcuts which I promptly reported to the city inspector who said that if the shortcuts had been known at the time then the roof would not have passed the inspection but the shortcuts where hidden well enough to pass by the overworked city inspectors.

These are not isolated incidents but common in our neighborhood. At least common to those who had homes built by Mcdonald Construction which is owned and operated by Bob Mcdonald of Eagan Minnesota. A ten year old house should not need to be re-sided, have doors replaced and be re-roofed. Thank you Bob Mcdonald for making this houseing experience very miserable and costly.
