New Century Of America Homes (Fredericksburg VA) I authorized National City Mortgage to give Douglas F. Haig a $25,000 deposit to start the construction on my home on my lot and 20 months later there is no home and he refused to return the deposit even after a respectfull verbal request amd a registered letter demanding Fredericksburg Virginia

Sadly sir, you are not the only one that has been screwed over by this individual. Most of his employees have yet to be paid since his business has gone under, myself included. I was let go as an employee after I had been in and out of the hospital for over a month. I had to have a blood transfusion and emergency surgery because of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. He had no sympathy for the istuation or anything. All he wanted was more money. We had to hurry up and run to the bank to cash our checks before everyone else because at some point, his checks were going to bounce. To this day, he still owes me 3k. That is pretty petty in comparison to what you are going through at the moment. I wish he would respect every person as he expects to be respected, especially someone who has/is served our country! Good luck to you! He certainly is scum on the bottom of my shoe.

I was wondering if there has been any update? I’m guessing it’s safe to say that Doug Haig filed for bankruptcy, but is there any way to confirm this? It sounds like we were lucky to get into our house, although we did end up with a lien since he didn’t pay a subcontractor. If anyone has any information/updates we would greatly appreciate it.

As for the employee that posted here, I don’t think we ever got to thank you and your husband for your help in getting us in the house. It was a rough time as I believe Doug started missing payroll around the time we were trying to move in.

If I can find him, I will sue him.  It's terrible to read that this man has done so much damage.  He took my money and then left my family high and dry with a house under construction with inside framing and NO ROOF!! 

His subcontractors started calling me because the money we gave him for the subs never made it to them.  He pretends to be a victim but he is a crook.  He moved his office in March 2010 and now we can't find him.
