Rep Tile, Robert Baker ,tile Installer, did not perform work but wanted us to pay him $500 anyway. Would not take off invoice Winchester Virginia

we contracted with Robert Baker to install tile in our 2nd bath. He gave us a price of 1700. When he got to our house, it was realized that 2 items on his invoice were not having to be done. I had sent him 700 to VA before he even got to my house (dummy) and he wanted more money after doing 2 hours of work so I gave him 500 more (dummy). Then he says we owed him 800 more when job completed. The written invoice he gave me said 1700 (when he got here) so he was adding another 300. The job was priced way too high and he was charging us 500 for things he was not going to have to do. He wouldn't take the 500 off our invoice and let us pay him 1200 plus 300. Total 500. he picked up his tools and left, lying to us that he was going to do work at his mama's house. He was here almost a week and did less than 7 hours of work. He was sick some days but not too sick to ride bikes with his brother.

He originally told me the job would take a week and l/2
Another designed said the who job should not have cost over 600 including materials and be done in one and l/2 days. He came and finished the job in less than 5 hours.

unfair report

This job was unfortunate.   Price quoted was for complete job.   Customer deducted $500 from $1750 total and broke the agreement.   There was no compromise possible because of client's lack of job knowledge.   She rec'd labor sufficient for payment made.

This was a return customer, after having very high quality custom natural stone kitchen rug/backsplash and patterned bathroom floor designed and installed by us at very low price.  Included 5 yr warranty.  This was family friend.

Rep Tile's work is unmatched in quality and pricing.   We have extensive photo portfolio and references.   Only one dissatisfied customer.   CALL ROBERT for unparalled results.

when work was not done that was on the invoice which charged us $500 for that work, the $500 should have been deducted off the invoice, but Robert wouldn't do it. He just walked out. His dad told him to come back and finish the work but his hot headed temper got in his way. He has burned some bridges with other customers in the area.
