We too had the same experience with "RAH". Upon move in Dec of 2004, we did our initial pre-move in walk through. Items were "marked" and noted. The gentleman doing the walk through stated we had to sign off on the sheet and it would be done before we moved in (in 3 days). My husband showed up to sign paper work and decided to check in and NOTHING had been done and our move in was the next day. Sure enough, we show up and it was filthy, painting was not completed, items never touched that were marked, heater did not work,etc.

We were told lie after lie by the gentleman...he was caught in several lies with us and vendors! Many things were never fixed by them. We Just tried our air conditioner prior to summer and for the 3rd year in a row will need repair...still blows hot air. They "Re-fill" the coolant every year and there is obviously an issue because our 1st level unit has had no problems. The onsite manager is wonderful. It is the corporate guys that do not handle the issues well or don't care. Neighbors are afraid to complain because they feel it will lower our home values.

Just as our friends in Utah, we too had horrible paint job, poor carpet installation, caulking was coming up within first 8 months (ofcourse it was OUR fault), windows leak, screens don't fit, the pergo is uneven in some places, our kitchen island is cracking around the edges and in the center (on our move in sheet)...we have given up. We are having an inspector and law firm come in to check the structure for EXACT code violations. So if the nails are to be 6 inches apart and they are 6 1/2, I want it noted! I am tired of this. Again, the onsite guy, Scott, is great but his hands are tied and we have left him out of the loop since he should not take the heat.

After reading "Utah's" report, I am definitely getting an inspector to every last detail noted and they WILL fix everything! Unlike "Utah", our huge crack in our front room was fixed but it looks horrible...still expands and cracks!

I guess it is buyer beware...I do love my home but would expect a bit more quality from a brand new home!
I have had other issues with "RAH" regarding a different category and they were VERY helpful and kind. They're just not so quick with the home repair! Nor do they seem to be concerned once you move in!
