We, too, have had problems with our Ryan Home. Our home is 4 years old and we have had NUMEROUS problems since we moved in.

It started out with our picture window leaking about a week after we moved in. Ryan said the seal around the window was bad and caulked the window. Each time I called to say it was leaking again, they would come by and recaulk the window.

They continued to recaulk the window on a monthly basis (every time I called to say water was pouring in AGAIN!!) We found out that the window was defective and Ryan was fighting with the maunfacturer to recoup money from them for windows they had in stock but had not placed in homes yet.

(They did not feel the need to inform new home owners that their windows were defective.) After informing our construction supervisor that we were aware that the window was defective -- and after reporting Ryan to the Consumer Protection Agency and the Better Business Bureau -- our window was fixed within a week.

After that, our roof leaked. We were told that it was because ice had forced its way under our shingles.

Now, two years later, our roof is leaking again. Apparently, a piece of plywood had "popped" open around the ridge vent and a portion of our roof was hanging wide open. We pulled more than four buckets of snow from our attic beacause of this. Now we have water marks on our ceilings and walls. And the answer Ryan gave us was that we should have thar ridge vent covered up in the Spring (at our own cost, because the roof is only guaranteed for a year.) I consider this a structural defect which according to their "Warranty" is covered for 10 years. But Ryan does not consider this to be true.

Is there anyone else out there considering a class action lawsuit against Ryan Homes? I would like to stop them from building poor quality homes and endangering the health of numerous home owners due to problems with mold.
