In the past I reported how this vendor has changed their phone number to try and avoid being tracked down. Now, they are in the process of changing their name and phone numbers again. The new name of this company is: "Kentucky Buildings LLC". The new phone numbers are: Office Phone: 1-606-668-3446;1-859-771-3214. The new address is:

Mailing Address:
Kentucky Buildings, LLC.
PO Box 1230
Campton, KY 41301

Physical Address:
Kentucky Buildings, LLC.
300 Industrial Park Rd.
Campton, KY 41301

I have confirmed with the Kentucky Secretary of State that Robert Hobbs is the principal of both companies.
I have also ascertained that Robert Hobbs is going to arbitration the week of December 8th with another customer whom has an identical complaint to mine. They are apparently changing their name due to a large number of unresolved complaints with the Kentucky Better Business Bureau and a number of complaints with web based organizations such as Ripoffreport.com

Happy with Kentucky Buildings LLC

AUTHOR: GWats - Grayson (United States of America)

This is not all true information. My husband and I are interested in buying our second building from Kentucky Buildings. The first came from the original Ky Steel Truss Buildings. That company closed due to economy and owner wished to retire. We live in Ky and have visited the plant where these buildings are constructed and the parts are made. They have moved the sales office. It is at the plant where they make the red steel trusses. They answered all of my questions and I researched the info that is on here and found that Robert Hounshell was the owner. That's what my Secretary of State report said, (they only update those every six months). Its odd that people say they are trying to hide by changing the name and such, but why would they plaster it all over the web and also on the advertisements. I talked with them at the Farm Show in Feb. at Louisville, Ky. They have downsized and lowered their overhead. I don't know the outcome of any of these complaints and I know I am posting long after they were put on, but it seems all of the remarks being made were not true. There is supposed to be a large number of complaints, but in the shopping process, we found many more complaints on some larger, more adveritsed building companies than what we found on Ky Buildings.

We will be visiting the office soon to purchase our second KY. Building. I will update then if there is anything different. So far I have been treated with honesty and the price we were quoted was very competive with the 2005 catalog that we have.

Most likely the rebuttal letter is an employee or invested somehow with the company. The best thing anyone whom is interested in doing business with this company can do (other than read the Ripoff Report) is to contact the Louisville, Ky. Better Business Bureau. They have given KSTB a 'F' rating. This can be done on line but you must go to the Louisville, KY. BBB. The next thing you can do is simply call the Kentucky Secretary of State. They will tell you right over the phone about KSTB. Keep in mind they may not have any complaints, yet, on the new owner (Robert Hobbs, the original owner, and I believe the current real owner is still listed as a principal with the company). Next, call the Kentucky Clark Circuit Court and ask them to send you a summary of the settlement of Docket # 08-CI-00733. This plaintiff had the exact same case as do I against the company and has received all of his money back.

Be aware of anyone who has come out as cheerleader for a company and the companies record is virtually everywhere including complaints on this website as well as others.

I will be happy to reply to any further inquires.

Ky Buildings service/ Johns contracting

AUTHOR: anonymous - Jackson (United States of America)

I purchased a 75' X 120' building from KY steel truss in October of 2006. Everything that they did was outstanding in our dealings. They also recommended David johns for the contractor when I requested info. While unloading, David noticed that there was some damaged roof panels that had gotten some kinks in them (probably when loading them with the lift) He called the saleman and the new panels were sent to Virginia. They were not going to get here before Mr. Johns was done. He told me he would go to a job in West Va. and would return when the panels arrived. At no cost to me. From the start to the finish it was a great experience. The job was done as promised and everything was kept neat and clean. NO screws and debris were left for the animals feet and equipment tires to pick up. I have been recommending both KY steel truss and David johns for 4 years to all of my friends and anyone else that thought that they wanted a steel building. This past winter 2010 we had an unusual amount of snow. Some of the vertical supports were damaged. I called the manufacturer and got pricing for the new ones. The new owner responded from a trade show he was at in less than 24 hrs. He wanted to know if he could help. Due to the snow load exceeding the Va. code of 30lbs (It was between 60 and 90 lbs according to the national weather service and my insurance company.) I told him my insurance company was covering it. He offered to send me (at no additional charge) heavier supports so I would not have this problem again. NOTE** This was the new owner. He was not responsible for it and did not own thw company when I purchased it. I am surprised to read the stuff about them hideing with new names and phone numbers. I called the old number I had in the file and was told there was a new owner and got his name and cell phone number. I was told he was at the trade show and would be back in 3 days. I was going to wait but they had him call me. Less than 24 hours. It is a pleasure to deal with people at Ky Buildings. I will continue to reccomend them.. Most of my neighbors and friends are a bit jealous of my building. It is hard to believe that the others had a problem.
