I called homestead for a dumpster . I told eric the owner that the driveway was very steep and would i be able to put a dumpster on it he said if you can get a car in there we can put a dumpster in . The next morning we waited for the dumpster that i was told would be there at 10 am. The dumpster did not arrive until after 3 pm so we wailed all day having been told during the long wait that they would be there soon. When the driver finally got there saw the driveway he said that he could not put the dumpster in there as it was too steep .I told him what  his boss Eric said. he said he will not be the one taking it out so after he made some phone calls he said he was sorry and left.A couple of weeks later i got a bill for $100 from homestead i couldn't believe it so i called and they said that it was my fault and then started making up reasons as to why they charged my credit card . This is by far the worse company i have ever dealt with and i am a carpenter so i have gotten a lot of dumpsters over the years . This company is no good stay away and do not give them your credit card number

In Homestead Disposal's twelve years of business, we have had less than 10 cases where we arrived on site and were ultimately unable to deliver the dumpster.  Mr. Keane’s experience did not need to become one of those cases, but unfortunately his order did end up in that lonely club.  Homestead Disposal is in the customer service business. We accommodate our customers better than other companies because we are willing and able to deliver dumpsters to sites with limited space or steep inclines/declines.  Mr. Keane left a few facts out of his recitation of events on the Friday that his delivery was scheduled.  He was scheduled Thursday evening for a Friday morning delivery, between 10 and 12, to Rogers St. in Newton.  All of Homestead Disposal’s employees do their best to keep to the scheduled delivery times, but occasionally there are outside factors that affect our ability.  One such factor is snow which slows the transfer operations that we rely on, but also deliveries and pickups may take more time or may be impossible because of the snow.  Whereas we were lucky with the weather all winter, we did have to deal with snow on Friday January 20.   So, the delivery was made to Rogers St. in Newton after 1:00, when on a normal day it would have been closer to 10:00 if not a little earlier.  After the driver had placed the dumpster at the Rogers St. address, I received another call from an irate Mr. Keane that his dumpster was still not on site.  After consulting with the driver that the address was correct, we discovered that there are two Rogers St. in Newton (exact same spelling), but only one is displayed in Newton on GPS.  The delivery was actually for Roger St. in the Nonantum section of Newton (of which we were uninformed), which the driver found with a paper atlas.  The driver then doubled back to Rogers St Newton and then finally arrived at the other Rogers St, Newton-Nonantum.  Now here is where the snow derails what had been a shaky ride. The driveway was steep and narrow which is normally no problem at all, except if the driveway is covered in snow or ice, as the truck becomes a 15,000 pound sled.  The driver felt that he would not be able to safely control the truck down the narrow slope without potentially losing control of the truck, or in the best case being stuck at the bottom of the decline after the delivery with no weight on to provide any traction for the truck.  The driver explained this to Mr. Keane, and told him we would return after the driveway had been cleared of snow.  I cannot question my drivers’ decisions when it comes to the safety of any customer’s property, and Mr. Keane being a contractor should have known that a steep driveway covered in snow would put his customer’s home at risk of damage.  Now on the rare occasions when a delivery cannot be made, either because of snow or because of a vehicle blocking the delivery area, we make every accommodation to return at another time.  I offered to deliver the dumpster whenever Mr. Keane would like, later on that afternoon, first thing Saturday morning, but he just declined the delivery instead.  As we are constantly trying to improve our service and communication, and we all know what happens when one assumes anything; this incident has caused us to expand the target of our explanation on the perils of snowy driveways from homeowners to all contractors as well.

I can't believe these people . As i said i have been getting dumpsters for years and these guys are the first company to bill me for something i did not get . Here are some facts the day was january 20 2012 there was a dusting of snow and we swept off the driveway with a broom not a shovel there was no ice. The driver said that it was just to steep. When i Talked to eric the day before i told him where the house was and I questioned the steepness of the driveway. the story about the wrong address would have been fine with me if he had told me that day instead he kept us waiting al day by saying that it would be there soon. when they billed me the bill said that i got charged for a cancellation with no notice and the bill was $100 dollars . The rebuttal from the company says that i never cancelled the dumpster read it above and on there own web site it says cancellation without notice is a charge of $75 dollars. They billed me for $100 You decide . Do not give these guys your credit card number
