The person who runs the company has bounced checks. Does not take taxes out or pay unemployment or workers comp. When I was let go I applied for unemployment. A few days later the agent from the unemployment office called me to follow up on my claim. She had told me the employer told them I was a 1099 Contractor.

I checked in to that and found out he was trying to pull a fast one. In order for me to be a contractor #1) I would have had to sign a contract stating that. #2) I filled out a W-4 form as well as a State of MD tax form. #3) I used his vehicals covered under his insurance and was dispactched by the company. The company also prived the uniforms. #4) He knows that I was not a 1099 contractor and had to take taxes and other things out.

Right now I am in a pickle becaue when I was let go i was owed 2 weeks pay. I was missled by the owner by him telling me he had my checks and if I came in to the office which is 37 miles from my house I could get them. I did just that and had to wait almost an hour till he was off the phone only for him to tell me that he was going to hold it because he said I owed him some money. At that time not only did he owe me for 2 weeks pay he also owed me for out of pocket expenes of about $400 that I turned in reciepts for weeks before.
