I too was taken in by these slippery cons. I too was told my idea was great and to send money two times. The first time was for the initial marketing report, (which I have come to find out is a bunch of made up figures and estimates), the second to move forward so they can "get you idea to market". I was told to hurry up and sign up so my idea would make it to the next convention. What a load of crap. I was not awhare of their great system, mailing me twenty so called leads every three months so I could stuff envelopes and mail them out at my expence.

After a few months I decided to call some of the companies that where on the mailing list and found out that they were not pre-screened at all.

My invention is a pet product, and some of the companies I call were pet groomers, farms, mom and pop stores, not manufactures! I did not find out until later that the marketing research they did for me was a bunch of useless figures they though together and everytime I phoned them to find out where they got the figures they would pass the blame to another department. I soon realized I had been taken for a fool.

I am definitely going to take legal action, to get my money back and also to protect future victims.

Invent-Tech game me false information

AUTHOR: Michael - Garden Grove (U.S.A.)

I mentioned in my initial report that Invent-Tech gave me made up figures in the marketing report they gave me for over $800. I neglected to explain why this is so important. I signed with Invent-Tech a little over 2 years ago, and this past year I did a lot of work on my own with some contacts that I made by my own efforts. After a few months of checking around we came to the conclusion that the invention is too costly to make. The way it works is what ever your manufacturing cost is, the retail cost is about 3 times that cost. If the product cost more than people are willing to pay for it, obviously you will not have any sales. No sales, no money. I also forgot to mention that I did check Invent-Tech out on the BBB website prior to making a decission to sign on, and they had a clean record according to the report at that time. Since then, I think they are not a member of BBB as far as I can tell. I read a submission on this website from a lawyer who is in Texas stating that maybe Invent-Tech is not dishonest and mybe they really do try to help inventers out. I can tell you that is false. If I take money from you to fix your car, and I know nothing about cars, does that make me a crook??? I say yes. I was told my invention would be "represented at the trade shows". The truth is, they do not aggressivly try to promote your idea. If someone happens to ask, do you have any ideas in a certain category and your ivention happens to be in that category I was told they will discuss at that time. From what I have been told from Invent-Tech reps is that they mainly go to the shows to make contacts. I was told, "your idea will be represented at the trade shows and that millions of others use a interactive link to the trade shows via the intranet. "Hurry and sign up or you will miss out on the show in two weeks!" The main reason I signed on with Invent-Tech, was that I was impressed by the salesmen that were calling me to persuade me to sign on. They were sharp, and persistant. They phoned me every two to three days. I thought, man with people like this in charge of my idea, there's no way it will fail. Well, the problem is they use their best tallent to persuade hopefull people like myself to come aboard. The people that provide service for you after you sign sound like new high school grads. They do not have the people skills, nor the business skills to be speaking with inventors and manufactures.
