In mid May of 2009 I had signed up with Cablevision as my Cable, Phone, and Internet provider. The sales representative I spoke to informed me of my options, and how much the triple play would cost for the first year. The installation happened, and I thought it was going to be smooth sailing from there. The first bill arrives for $424.00 dollars! I immediately called Cablevision to explain this bill, and basically I was charged for partial service for May, full service for June & July! What the representative did NOT tell me during the sales pitch was that I would be charged for a partial month, plus one month in advance for service. After speaking to a customer service representative who stated, "Wow I have never seen a bill this high!", and a supervisor who stated, "The charges are legitatement, and sorry you were not advised of the partial charge, plus one month in advance charge", I am now stuck with a $424.00 bill.
Rip off? Yes. Should I be responsible for this bill? No. I am willing to negotiate the bill, however Cablevision will not budge.
If you go with the triple play, make sure to start service in the beginning of the month!
