First of all, charter has been raising rates for what seems like every month for the past year. They make you pay extra for HDTV, then only provide you with, like, three channels of content.

I live in the NYC tri-state area where just about every broadcast network is in hdtv, yet Charter can't seem to provide any of these channels in high-def. However, they DO like to advertise profusely about their HDTV service and how you can get all broadcast channels in high-def.

When I contacted them to complain, they spewed out a bunch of crap about added costs and limited bandwith. With all the rate increases, they should be able to easily provide content. As far as bandwith is concerned, they have about thirty or so music-only channels that NO ONE uses and about three hundred thousand crap local tv channels for just about every pissant highschool in the area, but that can't provide HDTV? B.S.!!!!
