I am a former employee of Charter Communications employed by Broadband Solutions Inc., who is a contractor for Charter. I worked for this company for a year before I was fired due to a handicap that they were told about at the interview. I have Attention Deficeit Disorder and Panic Attacks. BSI was aware of this when they hired me.. I was hired by Andy Anderson and when I started a week later Andy had been replaced by Dave Brose. I reminded/informed Dave of my handicap and he asked how to accommodate me for my handicap, I told him I needed to take frequent breaks, especially if I get panic attacks,, he said no problem we can work with that. He told me numerous times that if I got behind on my work schedule or "swamped" to call him so he could come and help me or get someone in the area to help me.. that happened only once, there were times when I was out till 9 pm at night.. and then would get wrote up by Mr. Brose for not completing my tasks on time. But then there were times when I was swamped with work and had to go and help other techs in the area, but he couldn't get someone to help me.. After exactly a year to the date.. Dave Brose fired me saying they could not accomodate my disability nor were they required too do it.

I filed a greivance with upper management and with Charter.. but to no avail. So I filed a grevience with the state of Wisconsin, and when it went to mediation, Broadband stated that they fired me because I had too many complaints from customers about my work, however when BSI's Quality Control person inspected my work every week, I always got high marks on installation and customer service.

Do not work for Broadband or Charter, they discriminate and play favorites.

Your complaint is not with Charter

AUTHOR: Matt - Rapid City (U.S.A.)

I worked many years as a contractor for a company that did work for Charter Communications. How is it that you think Charter had any wrong doing in this situation. It is not Charter's place to ensure your job with a seperate company. With the limitations you admitted you have in the work place, you had no place installing services period. Did you work as an employee or did you have a DBA and work for your self? As an employee of the Contractor you would be protected, since they did hire you. As a subcontractor, you would work until you were no longer needed, no matter what the reason, you are not protected.

Good luck to you, but you should be thankful you didn't get the back billing for the numerous orders they claim you made errors on. I have seen it happen before.

#3 Ex-Employee

that is right my complaint is not with Charter

AUTHOR: Rodknutson - Tomah (U.S.A.)

You're right, my complaint is not with Charter, however, BSI is a contractor for Charter, therefore they are just as responsible for allowing this type of stuff to happen, discrimination of any kind is against the law, no matter how it happens. BSI is a joke and I don't allow them to work on my cable issues, I specifically ask for Charter technician on any type of work in my house.

Some of the employees that presently work for BSI are losers, and the quality of work they do is sub standard.

Complaint not with Charter only with Broadband Solutions Inc. (BSI)

AUTHOR: Rodknutson - Tomah (U.S.A.)

I know that my complaint is not with Charter, but BSI was a contractor for them and I worked as an hourly employee of BSI under there Workman's Comp Ins, and was not a DBA employee. I just feel that Charter should have dealt with this discrimination since BSI was a contractor for them. They did nothing to BSI for the discrimination against me.
