Tygerdal,
I have experienced the exact situation you have described. One day I had a bill showing 15 adult movies appear on my account. According to charter, these movies had been ordered in a span of 35 days. I had gone over a year without ordering one on demand program, then apparently I had ordered 15 in a month. Charter did not listen. I even pointed out that according to their records, I had ordered 2 movies within a 1/2 hour of each other and that it was an obvious glitch in their equipment. Again, fell on deaf ears. I was told the movies last 24 hours and if I wanted to watch two at a time, it made perfect sense to them. I couldn't believe how I was being treated.
My argument that someone could have hacked their system (which is run online) was treated as a whimsical conspiracy theory. The strangest thing is that the first time I called to complain, they verified that the charges were indeed not placed from my remote and that all charges would be removed. Then suddenly, two weeks later, my bill showed that they had changed their mind. I never got the situation resolved. My services slowly fell off one at a time until they came out to turn off basic cable (1 day before my installation of ATT u-verse). I continued to refuse to pay. Late charges piled up. My original bill was for $200 for the adult movies. I recently received a collection notice on charter's behalf for a little over $700. Although they've collected all their equipment, they're claiming they didn't and that I owe $300 for that. The fact is, charter is an awful company with awful customer service. I wish it wasn't. It's located in St. Louis where I live, which gives alot of people work. But, they have driven themselves into bankruptcy by doing these exact type of things. I wish you luck in resolving your issues. I've already contacted charter and intend to sue them for defamation of character, libel and vilification.
