My son, who is a skateboarder and interested in photography, wanted a fisheye lens for his digital camera. He did extensive research online, and since his camera is a fixed lens model, there are only a few models of adapter lenses that will fit. He found the Demon Fisheye Lens online site, which claims that it's product is "The first skateboarding lens for any camera, guaranteed" The website further represents that THEY are the manufacturers of this lens. A phone conversation with them confirmed this claim, when the sales representative told me "we custom design these lenses and have them made especially for us in Japan, nobody else has them."

They further claim that "Demon Fisheye Lens uses tempered Crystal to make its lenses. Tempered Crystal is virtually unbreakable and is 100% scratch proof. (Most fisheye lenses found on the web use ordinary glass) Using the Demon Fisheye Lens with your camcorder stabilizes your image. No more wobbly shot!"

What arrived in the mail is another story entirely. This lens is nothing more that a generic .42 wide angle lens made and branded by Digital Optics. It isn't even branded with the Demon Fisheye name. These lenses are widely available on Ebay and elsewhere for between 25 and 40 dollars. Demon Fisheye charges 99.95 plus shipping charges. This is simple deception.

They are making ridiculous claims that their lens is somehow proprietary and charging twice what the same lens can be had for in many places.

In addition, they do not answer emails or return customer service phone calls. NONE of the quoted claims above are true.

The Demon Fisheye Lens worked for us! Demon Fisheye Lenses are well worth the $$ and are great beginners.

AUTHOR: Isabell Ellswood - Ft. Lauderdale (U.S.A.)

I don't usually make comments on sites like these, but when I saw this report about the Demon Fisheye Lens, I had to put in my two cents. My son, has a Sony camcorder that he needed a fisheye lens for (he uses it for skateboarding); I did a bit of research online and found demon fisheye lens.com. Now, not only were they able to provide me with a fisheye lens that actually fit my sons camera, it only cost $89! Other fisheye lenses online usually run about $400-$800 retail, and on top of that they do not fit my sons camera.

The woman that debased Demon Fisheye Lens.com needs to understand that if she wants a professional fisheye lens, she can shell out $600 and buy one. Demon Fisheye lenses provide a great alternative to people that cannot afford professional fisheye lenses. As far as finding these lenses on eBay for $25-$40? Simply, not true. About 4 months prior to purchasing the Demon fisheye Lens, I bought my son one of the $25 lenses the woman is referring to, on amazon.com and it was nothing like the Demon Fisheye Lens. My son is very happy with his Demon Fisheye Lens and I can sincerely, earnestly and wholeheartedly, say, as a mother, feel confident that your son or daughter will be happy with the demon lens. Again, they cannot except a professional $600 fisheye lens for $89.95, but the Demon Lens does the job promised.

It's actually quite funny how I can across this ripoff report site and this womans comment. I typed Demon Fisheye Lens.com in a google search; I am returning to Demon Fisheye to buy an adapter ring for a new camera my son got, as I was scrolling down ripoff report caught my eye. How ironic? Here I am, a returning Demon Fisheye customer reading about a bad experience an over zealous customer had. Wow, I cannot believe I am still writing. Good thing Demon Fisheye's customer service was courteous and helpful to me otherwise I would never have taken the time to write this.

"Worked for us"?

AUTHOR: Profe - Cornville (U.S.A.)

The point is not whether the lens worked for you. The point is these people are claiming they manufacture and market this lens exclusively, and nothing could be further from the truth. This is a common lens that is available eleswhere for half the price.

AUTHOR: Dontfukwithme - Fuck You (U.S.A.)

Lady, you either must be retarded or simply stupid, if you have enough brain you can choose which of those 2 categories better fits you. More then 99.9% of what your saying is completely and truly false.

#1: The Demon Fish Eye lens DOES fit any camcorder, you, calming your "son" doing his extensive research, he should have seem that first thing. The demonfisheyelens is specially manufactured more the company, i would know this because i bought 3 different lens from 3 different sites, took each one apart, and discovered that the demonfisheye lens is in fact the only inner customized one out of all 3 and does use 100% non-scratchable crystal glass.

#2: Back to your son doing his "extensive research", if these lenses are "what you claim to be all over Ebay", then you probably should have bought one from there. A fake, light weight, GLASS (not crystal), 100% scratch proof knock-off. Non-comparable to the demonfisheye. But would have saved you some money and would have kept your mouth shout.

#3: The company of dfel does answer phone calls and replays to ALL emails sent to the CORRECT email address, they have there own two customer service departments for phone calls and email reply's. Confirming 100% all reply's done calling within hours of work time and operating departments.

I am not an employee for the DFEL company and have no relations to them. But after doing all MY extensive research taught to me by 4 years of law school i came to the conclusion that the claims you came to, are 100% false. Don't come on websites like these saying other successful websites are false in there claims due to your jealously.

I fact all the above statements confirmed true by me.

Ha ha!

"But after doing all MY extensive research taught to me by 4 years of law school i came to the conclusion ..."

That one was really funny. Unfortunately, only the marginally literate would buy this claim.

I also liked the comment that although it appears to be a run of the mill D.O. product, this lens is specially "internally customized". What a joke.

LOL! Tempered Crystal!

AUTHOR: jw - (United States of America)

So many comments by people who obviously have no idea what they are talking about. "Tempered crystal"? "Scratch proof"? Wow, some marketing department saw you coming. If such a thing were possible, don't you think Canon, Nikon, and Leica (makers of the finest lenses on earth) would be all over it? No, they use GLASS, in addition to such high end materials as Flourite, which you will never see in a $100 lens.

The item is junk, plain and simple.
