Lensdepot.com requires ID and a backup (mail with correct address if ID address is incorrect).

I emailed a picture of my passport as I could not get my hands on my license at the time and government mail showing my correct address. I advised I will bring the info with me when I come. I received an email stating they needed my driver's license and supporting documentation showing my address or they would cancel my order.

I emailed that I sent my picture ID as requested when I called to confirm all they needed was a picture ID and mail showing my address, however due to limited time, I needed them to be specific as I could not "go back and forth like this".

Oscar sent me an email advising me he is cancelling my order and that his email was specific (which it was not until he advised he was cancelling my order). Now I am faced with purchasing the item new to avoid inconvenience to my customers during a project I am doing in 48 hours.

I called after the email (several times) and they would not answer. I emailed and there has been no response.

I will be reporting them to the BBB as well as contacting my bank to dispute the charge as they have already taken payment and have refused me service.

I will NEVER do business with these people again.

Customer did not want to follow our procedures

AUTHOR: Thelensdepot - Maitland (U.S.A.)

In response to the above mentioned incident. The customer was emailed shortly after placing the order as to what we needed to finish processing the rental order. In our email it specifically asked for a copy of their drivers license that verifies the address used on the order. We did not hear from the client for almost a week so we sent a second email as well as left a voice mail that we still need the information requested. We were contacted by the client to verify that they were in fact going to send over the information. We then receive a copy of their passport. We then sent another email telling the client once again that we needed a copy of the drivers licence and not the passport as specifically detailed in our first response after the order was placed. The client then told us that they would rather bring a copy with them. At this point we felt as though the customer was not following our procedures and under our lease agreement have the right to cancel the order. We also felt that the client was trying to hold back information and we did not feel comfortable with the business transaction.
