Canon, Canon Usa,canon Camera fabricaterd a lie to avoid a warrenty repair,refused to stand behind thier product Elk Grove Illinois

I purchased a shur shot s-series camera from canon I regestered it and went to great lengths to take proper care of it. I had taken about 4 pictures when the battery's went dead, when I changed them it beeped at me and said lens error please re-start camera.

I was very certain that canon would stand behind thier warrenty. The first thing they threw at me was the original warrenty card and the original store reciept, Ok I have them so we are good to go ? right?

Wrong I shiped it in its original box plus some foam and insured it, as they suggested. A few days later I got an e-mail saying they had my camera and that upon thier initial inspection it was a warrenty repair and the cost would be $0.00.

A week later I am expecting to get it back when they call me and say that my camera is not repairable and that they found evidence of liquid in it. this was an absolute lie and just to get out of repairing my unit. that camera was kept in a case and never used in any kind of bad weather. I used it daily and was even considering saving for an upgrade.

Now I will buy a Nikon and see if they understand the concept of customer service or standing behind your word or your warranty. We did buy canon products because of the name thinking we would be treated with some dignity and respect, I guess those are qualities that are hard to find these days! I would warn all you hard working families to spend your money with a company who cares about thier customers more than Cannon.
