We bought a Power Shot A570IS camera at Best Buy after checking Consumer Report magazine for the best camera for our needs. Right away the Alkaline batteries went dead after just a few pictures. We bought some rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries, charged them, but they only lasted 4 pictures. We bought rechargeable factory charged ones, they lasted about 4 pictures also. We went back to Best Buy and they checked the camera and agreed there was a problem.
We needed to send it back to Canon according to the warranty.
I called Canon. I had to go out and buy a special box to ship camera back. I also had to insure mail it back at $8.00. I might add I needed that camera for pictures
of my grandchildren at Halloween, which now I have none. I am the the historian for our Model A car club with no camera.
About 3 weeks later I recieved the same camera back with a note that said they replaced the door on the batteries and that I needed to use more powerful AA
batteries. Who knew there was such a thing! I bought those too. Now those more powerful no rechargeable batteries last about 15-20 pictures! Should I be
happy?
Another call to Canon, they say ship it back, [just before Christmas]. I'm mad, they don't compensate you for your time or money. They quote "according to warranty".
