On March 11, 2006 while on board the cruise ship “Norwegian Spirit”, of Norwegian Cruise Lines, my wife purchased the subject item for me as a surprise gift.
On March 12, as we were disembarking, she gave me the gift. When we returned to our home, I found the product damage (the battery cover was broken), and the instruction booklet was missing. On closer examination, it appeared that the item had been previously purchased and had been returned to the gift shop on board the ship.
After contacting the manufacturer, Konus, several times, they have totally ignored all letters.
Seemed like a great product until I tried it, then found that we had wasted $210.00.

...and thanks, Richard, for the heads-up about Konus. While researching digital cameras online, I stumbled onto this report. Although it turned out that the local camera places don't carry Konus, I made a mental note not to buy a Konus product, since they obviously have no service after the sale. I bought a competing product and am very satisfied with it, thank you. I'd rather have things done right than done again.
If anyone at Konus is reading this report, your smug attitude of "we got the money and we don't care" is backfiring on you. The word is getting around!
