Preferred Photo fraudulent sales practices ripoff Brooklyn New York

I ordered a camera online from preferred photo and their salesman called me at home to verify the order. He then proceeded to tell me that the camera "required" a 70.00 rechargeable battery which was sold separately. I stated that the ad said it would run on AA batteries and he again stated that I needed the Rechargeable. He went on to offer me an accessory package deal for 12.00 more which included longer lasting batteries. My initial order, including shipping was abbout 65.00; by the time he finished telling me what I had to add it was 124.00.

When the camera arrived, the packaging clearly stated that it required AA batteries which were included. The rechargeable batteries they sent could have been purchased at Walmart for 20.00. The accessory kit only amounted to a cheap plastic mini tripod and a lens cleaning kit. The salesman flat out lied to me.

It took forever to get customer service on the phone to get a Returns authorization number and they were none too pleasant about it. This was my first really bad experience shopping on the internet and I've made a point to caution family and friends to stay away from this company.
