The old saying if it sounds to good to be true applies to these guys. I searched the web for the best price on a Nikon D-50.
Wow. Royal camera certainly had it. $499.00 with 2 lenses, tripod, camera bag and, LCD protectors. I called them to see if the package advertised on their web site was in stock. The guy answering the phone told me yes. His response was way to quick and there was no searching time he somehow new they had it.
So I placed the order. After thinking about how this guy reacted I did a internet search for Royal camera. That's when I found Rip Off Report. The information here told the story. These guys were rip offs.
So I waited. 2 days before teh camera shipped they called wanting to know if I wanted to purchase a battery for the camera. I told them No (funny I thought all cameras came with at least one battery). Then they asked mw if I wanted a memory card. I told them no. They then told me that the memory card was $100.00 with a $100.00 rebate. When I agreed they tried to sell me a filter set. Finally when I told them to forget about the accessories and just ship the camera as ordered they told me that the package I ordered was no longer available and the price was not valid.
After explaining that I placed the order the same day as they advertised the camera package they just repeated that the package was no longer available. I pulled up their site while I had the guy on the phone. There was the same camera package as I ordewred for $549.00. I asked if I could purchase this camera at the current advertised price. I was told that that add was old (even though I was looking at it) and the warranty that came with the camera was only good in Europe.
I told them that their site said they sold only new equipment with full USA warranty. Their response was that I could get the camera that I requested for $799.00 without the lenses. It was then that I had had enough and just canceled the order. Bottom Line - Don't even waste your time looking at their web site it will just waste your time.
