    Corporate Advocacy Program
My husband and I purchased a membership in 2006.  At the time, we thought our "one time fee" of 7,000 dollars  was a lot of money, but we figured in a few years it could pay for itself.  At the end of 2006,  we found out about the maintenance fees and about the additional cost to be affiliated with other campgrounds (I guess they waved it when we signed the contract).  Recently we were contacted to go in and take picture ids.  When we went in the saleslady said, "I bet you didn't know you cannot just stop making payments" to cancel the memberships.  She continued to tell us that many people don't know that so they have created a new option.  If we pay 3,000 dollars they will ad an addendum to our contract stating that we can cancel our contract in 10 years.  She told us how the maintenance fee was going up and would surely reach 800 dollars by the time we retire.  If we paid the 3,000 they would also freeze  the maintenance fee at a certain dollar amount(I forget the amount).    The fact that she told us many people don't know about the lifetime membership fees tells me that they are deliberately misleading people. If you know a lot of people don't know about the lifetime of payments, why not tell them when they sign the contract?  Why not type that in large print?  I don't know why anyone would pay and extra 3,000 except to rid themselves of the contract.  Needless to say,  I do not believe anything they tell me now.  She wanted me to initial that i was refusing the new option.  I didn't even want to do that.  They turned my dream of camping into a nightmare because I worry about other things I will find out.

Something else they forgot to tell you!

AUTHOR: Ben Screwed - Yucaipa (U.S.A.)

Something else that sales person "PAM"? and others sales persons forgot to tell you and me( even as an employee)  is that C R A  does not "OWN" the campgrounds they are forcing you to commit to life long payments,  when in reality they have a lease that expires in 2018 for KQ Ranch  in Julian , CA, and 2040 for Cherry Valley Lakes Resort in Beaumont, CA.

Ask your self an important question before you sign on the dotted line!!   how can you be sure they will in fact be able to continue their lease with the real owners of these RV campgrounds in the future.  things have a way of changing from year to year with no guarantees, this sounds like a good campground to stay away from if you have long term plans.
