Five Star Associates Shake Down Cancellation Fees Pass Christian Mississippi

We have been members of Five Star Associates since 1998. So we have paid our yearly dues and special assessments for 12 years. We have recently quit RVing and cancelled our AOR and CC memberships. We recently sent a letter to Five Star Associates to cancel our membership at the end of this year. We received a phone call from Anthony Meyers and said that it would cost us $1,000 to cancel our membership.
I would think that after 10 years that there would be nothing due. We also only received a Certificate of Membership from them in 1998. No where in this document does it say anything about a cancellation fee.
This is a total Rip Off and we are not going to pay them one more dime.
