Chase Auto Finance are horrible. I have contacted them via certified mail, return receipt, regarding incorrect information they are reporting on my credit. They did not reply, nor speak to me in any way. I contacted them two more times, and now, instead of updating the inaccurate information, they DELETED TWO YEARS of payment history. This cause my FICO to drop 72 points in ONE DAY! All of the negligence and lack of communication from CHASE caused me to lose my mortgage loan, based on the large FICO drop, and I am in shock.
I have called, emailed, faxed, and sent Certified mailings, only to be ignored completely.

The customer service is horrid. The law states that if they are going to report someone to the credit bureaus, they MUST report accurate information. To date they will not take my calls, and will not correct the errors.

You are correct that the FCRA states that they must report accurate information. However, it does not require them to report any information at all.

This is very common when you dispute something on an account that instead of fixing the information they just delete the listing, especially if it is a closed account. While it may seem unfair there is no violation of the FCRA because of this. Once it is removed there is nothing you can do to force them to place it back on your credit report.

On a side note this is where lack of knowedge of how credit scores and reports work can cause you more damage. I am not sure what you were trying to fix. But for example if you were trying to remove a 30 day late from 2-3 years ago, but were perfect otherwise. The 30 day late while technically a "negative" had little to no bearing on your score, but as you found out removing the line all together caused a big drop.
