My recommendation is to never do business with any part of Chrysler again and make sure you impress this upon your friends as well.
You are lucky you received their mild treatment. In my personal experience they went as far as to put a contract for bodily harm on me. The guy they contracted could not catch me at home so I contacted him by phone and after he heard my side of the story he canceled with Chrysler and told me he was hired to do bodily harm to me to get at my truck for them.
What happened to me was Chrysler had breached their contract by failing to title the vehicle in my name so I could register it and have use of the vehicle. In other words I was to store the vehicle for them since it was in their name and I was to make payments every month and pay for insurance on their vehicle, but I was never allowed to use the vehicle.
I filed a breach of contract on them and the contract was canceled then deemed Null and void. They also lost the right to their collateral but they went to the court behind my back and perjured themselves presenting the contract as an undisputed contract to get a seizure order for the truck and bypassed all the legal requirements so they could try and illegally steal the vehicle from me. I was never even informed of this and the statute requirements for the court to determine who has ownership were all waved by the court for Chrysler. Chrysler continually stated that they were so large that they do not have to obey the law and the courts were owned by them. After seeing the court in action it was very apparent that what they said was true. In fact when I tried to retain a lawyer to fight them I found that every lawyer in Arizona was completely afraid to go after them. Not a single attorney in I talked too had the guts to stand up to them. They all said I had a great case they just would not go against Chrysler.
Chrysler now owes me $22000 according the breach settlement, but in stead of paying what they owe they have chosen to damage my credit instead and the have stolen the truck and sold it across state lines. My credit went from 750 to 400 and they sold the void contract to several collection agencies who are all reporting against my credit as well.
Moral of the story? Don't buy Chrysler! Write your senators to have their bailout canceled and don't forget to let your attorney general know how they are treating consumers. Most of all tell all your friends to stay away from them. A total boycott of there products is the only thing that can fix the problem.
Consider yourself to have gotten off easy. It's still going on for me after three years.
Good luck
And remember Chrysler in my opinion is the modern mafia!
