Drive Time Aka Ugly Duckling Car Sales still sitting in the driver's seat ripoff abused & mistreated ripoff Tampa Florida

The Ugly Ducking is still sitting in the driver's seat at Drive Time Auto Sales!

After having lost 2 cars in a matter of days, due to accidents, I was forced to purchase a car from, then, Ugly Duckling Car Sales. It has been a disaster since. From the very beginning, the sales personel did not keep their promise to repair/replace missing pieces. Staff at this time seemed to have found the revolving door!

My current payments are about 348/month on a 95 Mercury Mystque. This would be acceptable, however over the past four months I have had to but over 4K in the car, just to keep is running. Such repairs have included a new transmission and a new wiring harness. For a car that only had 66K miles on it, these items should not have to be replaced.

I have been harrassed with phone calls, rude phone calls to my family, employer and friends, even revealing the nature of the call about my debt even though that is considered an illegal practice.

Finally, I have discovered that they are using old check payments to debit my account without permission. the Attorney General is investing this one!

My recommendation is to keep looking for alternative financing using sub-prime lenders. Many can be found on the internet. If you are forced to make a purchase, document everything! Document all payments and conversations. When you are in the store, listen to the employees as they boast about "breaking people into tears". Keep your paperwork and keep trudging the road after the "Duck"
