My vehicle was totalled in January 2001, my insurance company paid the vehicle off in February 2001, the company is reporting that I am in collections. After years of dsiputing this information by way of letters, a copy of cashier's check and title from the insurance company, HSBC sent me letter stating that I was correct and the correction to my credit report would take about 4-8 weeks to be corrected. The letter was sent in November and HSBC is still reporting the same information to credit bureaus. I faxed and mailed a letter today stating that I am requesting all information provided to the credit bureaus and that I would be contacting an attorney if this matter is not taken care of immediately. HSBC has informed the credit bureaus that the account was sold to another company however they have yet to provide me with this information.
