I bought a car in 1996 and had it less than 3 years they put three transmissions and then that even didnt work. Then it wouldnt go at all. I told them to come get it. Well 11 years later I am being sued for $16,000.00 and they have been taking money from my work checks and now have been cleaning out my bank account. I asked for the car facts sheet, to see what happen to the car and they told me they dont have it, And that I would have to go to the court house to get it. I called the court house and left several messages and yet no reply back. If they take all tis money from me I am intitled to the car back since I am paying almost three time more than what I payed for it. This is crazy. What to do? All tyhis is from RPM auto sales in Flint Michigan. Thanks, Tom.

Report not clear

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoenix (USA)

   This report doesn't make sense.

"Well 11 years later I am being sued for $16,000.00 and they have been taking money from my work checks and now have been cleaning out my bank account. "

Are you being sued, or have you already been successfully sued?  The reason I ask is that they can't take money from your paycheck or your bank account unless they already have a judgement against you from a court of law.   Neither your employer nor your bank will allow them access to your funds without a court order.

Did you ever receive a court summons?  If so, did you go to court?

Wondering

AUTHOR: Susan - This City (USA)

In 1996 what was the original cost of the car?  When you told them to take the car, what did you still owe and stop paying on?

The court house wont call you back about a car. Vehicles are a state thing, in my state it is the Secretary of States office.

Wondering

AUTHOR: Ramjet - Somewhere (U.S.A.)

When you told them to 'come and get it' that was a voluntary repossession right?  Then they sold it, probably at an auction and you then still owed the difference, if any, between what they sold it for and what you still owed.  Is that what they sued you for? If that's true, you apparently lost and are being forced to pay back what you owe.

You didn't provide enough details to know for certain this is what it happening but it's a reasonable guess.
