I filed a complaint against Geico with the Texas Department of Insurance. They had renewed my insurance and then I had some terrible service with them so I filed a complaint. Everything was fine until I filed a complaint against them. They renewed my insurance in October and I filed the complaint against them in late November 2008. Me and Geico and the Texas Department of Insurance went back and forth.

It is time for me to renew my insurance with Geico again and suddenly they are telling me they can't renew me because I backed into a wall in September 2008. I did do that but I damaged noone's property. I had a little dent which had prompted me to call Geico and ask them what would I have to do if I ever damaged my car and noone else was involved? They kept prodding until I told them I bumped a wall but did not want to file a claim. Well the girl on the phone assured me she would not but they just wanted the information for their records. She lied.

A letter came that had a claim number and informed me that I could get my car fixed at the shop of my choice. Boy was I shocked!! I called and told them I did not want to file a claim and was assured I would not have to. After this incident, I complained against them. But don't forget, they had already renewed my insurance after the incident. They canceled it only after I filed a complaint against them. They assured me that me filing a complaint had nothing to do with the claim.

I don't believe that so I have filed another complaint against them. Waiting for a response from The Texas Department of Insurance. Geico told me I had to find another company because they are not renewing my policy because I bumped a wall in September. What???? The agent told me this is the first chance they had to cancel my insurance.

I have never heard of a insurance canceling your policy because of a bump into a wall while backing up. Geico is dirty and you need to really watch them. Bigger don't always mean better people!! Run from Geico. They pay more attention to that little lizard than they do their customers!!

AUTHOR: Jocko - Biloxi (U.S.A.)

THere appears to be something fishy here, but giving a benefit of doubt. Its always so confusing to consumers about how business works. I have been with Geico over 20 years and have never had any problems and have had two claims in that 20 years time period. They renewed my policy with no issues; the difference I never took a complaint to any Gvt Agency.

I have no complaints against Geico now or ever; they have always treated me fairly. But you have to look at this like a adult, not the way your looking at it now. Your doing business with a company; you try to fix the problem and its not resolved.

Its their right not to do business with you; and as a small business ownr myself I would not continue to do business with you either. Their has to be more to this, why would you complain if they offered to fix your car. I will be notifying them so they can have their day in court (or on the net as this will be) to tell their side of the story.

I hope that this website does as posted and not allow you to do a retraction because as they say in my generation something just don't smell right with this report.
