After being backed into while stopped in a parking lot by a Progressive insured, this claims adjuster (Jackie Johnson) "decided" that I was somehow 30% liable for the accident and that Progressive would only pay 70% of the cost of repairing my vehicle.
Unfortunately, the Wausau, WI policeman who came to the scene chose not to write a report or issue a citation, and there were no witnesses. Though I did take pictures of the damage to both vehicles, the Progressive adjuster has shown no interest in seeing them.
If you get backed into, or otherwise involved in an accident involving a Progressive insured, be prepared to fight for a just settlement. The hassles of dealing with this kind of claims mentality warrant avoiding Progressive in every way possible.
Complaint filed with the Wisconsin Commissioner of Insurance Office.

If you believe you were not in any way responsible for the accident, just file a suit against the other driver in small claims (assuming you have not accepted Progressive's offer of 70%). The driver (represented by Progressive) will have to explain to a judge why they believe you are 30% responsible. If it is obviously clear that you are in the right, the insurance company will usually agree and pay up as soon as you file suit. If, on the other hand, they can make a case for your 30% responsibility, they may try their luck in court.
