I had state farm insurance for over 5 years (never made a claim) i switch one of my cars over to another one of my cars, the agent dorothy said she wanted my to bring the car by to see it, when i did there was no one there (noon) that weekend i swapped car with Joe Rosales (99 navagator) as we were going camping in tennesse (a lot more room for 4 than the jag) when i returned I found out my car had been hit, I went right down to my agent and told them what I knew then. they stated first "you did not have insurance on your Jag"

I called there claims department and spoke to John Meyer, he stated that they did not know what they were talking about, and if I had my proof (faxed to him that day) I did have insurance, and my car would be fixed. then they came to my home and inspected my car. and then told me they did not belive Joes story. (I had told John I did not belive his story either) and that was why they were not going to cover my car,

3 different storys of why state farm will not cover my car, I have a recipt for payment in full for full coverage, a proof for payment in full for full coverage and have been waiting sense march for my car to be repaired, every time I call state farm they come up with another reason not to fix my car, now they say that because they did not see my car is why they will not cover it.

rather funny that I personally know someone else that lives in the same town, that drives darn near the identical car, did not have to bring his down to show Dorothy???? ( I will not reveal his name at this time as I am preparing to sue state farm and Dorothy Ortez personally for discimination and fraud) I do also have pictures of a different car of mine outside of Dorothys office at noon (I can only get over there on my lunch break) when no one answered the door (locked)

I feel like I have been robbed by my good neighbor, amd they general public shold know what they shold expect from her office.

I have spoke to 3 people in Dorothys office
2 claims reps (John Meyer, and someone else there) A Bob Miller, Ed Rusts office, Sandy, Shelly,Sandra, Mike Anderson, David Odenback.

And allways nowhere. 6 months later my car still sits broken.

RESPONSE

AUTHOR: Dorothy Ortez - Zeeland (U.S.A.)

Our agency is filled with genuinely nice, competent, long-term employees who live in the community. We know people don't love insurance, but they love our office. We really, really go out of our way for everyone, including this person...BUT

BOTTOMLINE: One must pay & set up insurance for one to actually have insurance. Driving to an OPEN insurance office and photographing your car in front of it, does not give one a policy, even if you mean to come in at a later date.

This person repeatedly physcially threatened my staff, their families & homes, harrassing us to the point where we had to make criminal complaints and install heightened security for everyone's safety. It got so bad, our Corporate Security from across the country was brought in.

He lost his appeal with the State of Michigan, he lost his appeal with the BBB of Michgian, and he was never able to secure an attorney to take his "case".

No inspection, no payment, no insurance

AUTHOR: justagirl7386 - (USA)

First, the complaint isn't clear, can't understand if you wanted to transfer coverage from one currently owned vehicle to another or if you purchased and new vehicle and wanted coverage transferred to the newly purchased vehile but I digress...

I am a friendly, competent, reliable former employee of a State Farm agent in AL.  I'd still be working for him where it not for the state of my health.  Anytime you wish to place coveage on a vehicle, a used vehicle especially, that vehicle HAS to be inspected by the agent or employee of that agent during NORMAL business hours (unless you've made arrangements to meet someone after hours).  And, in our agency, we normally met people after hours and on weekends.  We worked for a living and understood not being able to leave a job to visit our office.

As for the person in your town who drives similar vehicle and is insured by State Farm...IF there is no comprehensive or collision coverage on that vehicle no inspection was required and premium has been paid in order for coverage to be in force.
