On March 14, 2003 my son and 3 of his friends rented a 1998 Ford Taurus from Saban's Rent a Car to go to Rocky Point for Spring Break. The very next day the transmission went out and they where standed in another country.

They called the office that they had rented the car from to report the problem and see what they should do. The representative who they spoke to asked if they had checked the fluid or taken it somewhere to be fixed. They explained that the car was not moving at all and they where not going to attempt to drive it anywhere and create more damage.

According to the rental contract..."The Vehicle is delivered to You in good operation conditions". Saban's representative basically told them, "Oh Well...don't know what to tell you...call back tomorrow." and hung up on them.

On Monday they had finally spoke to someone who told them that a tow truck was being sent to pick them and the car up. As the car was being loaded, something snapped and red fluid started pouring from under the car. The boys made it a point to let the drive know that it had not done that...there was no fluid where the car had been since Saturday.

We have made several attempt to contact an owner or manager without success. We where told at one point to contact the owner and then on another call was told that the owner was a corporate office somewhere in Florida, but that they didn't know how to reach them.

We will be contacting the Attorney General's Office and file a report against them and see if there are enough complaints against them to file a class action suit.

Beware of Saban's Rent a car! They may be able to rent to kids who are under 21, or who have no credit card, and they can even take the car into another country.....but the price that they had to pay was not worth it!

Protect your kids, yourself, and anyone else who would even utter the words..Saban's Rent a Car!

Saban's is a rip-off

I rented a flatbed truck to haul firewood in northern AZ about 12 years ago. On the way back with the truck fully loaded, the back wheel started to wobble.

This truck had dual wheels. On inspection it was found to have almost all the lug nuts missing and the one's that where still there where almost falling off. This wobbling caused the holes on the wheels to become elongated and unusable.

The studs were all stripped smooth. We unloaded the truck and had it towed to a garage. We called Saban's and the said that we should not be using it to haul wood and good luck fixing it. The lug nuts where probally not tight when we picked it up.

We had the garage replace the studs and put on the best of the two wheels and drove it back to Phoenix unloaded. we couldn't get the wood that we left on the side of the road because someone stole it! Saban's was of no help even though it was their fault. I would walk rather than rent from Saban's. When we returned the truck we left the gas tank empty and told them good luck! THEY SUCK ! ! !

Saban Rent a Car is not a rip-off

Saban Rent a Car does rent vehicles to people under 21. We also provide rentals to Mexico. Unfortunately, vehicles do have mechanical problems on occasion.

As Ms. Graciano stated, we rectified the situation by bringing her son another car and towing the other vehicle back. What Ms. Graciano failed to mention was that the vehicle had broken down due to customer abuse.
