IGK Enterprises NOT to be trusted under ANY circumstances ripoff HOLLYWOOD Florida

One of their estimators came to my condo to bid my job. I was wanting work to start asap, and gave the estimator a check for half of the job, $550, and told him that IF I want to start the work, I will give him permission to start the job, otherwise I would have him tear the check up, or send it back to me.

Mistake- I thought I could trust them.

After going online to check them out, and calling Broward County and hearing from the woman helping me "oh, they have a lot of complaints against them", I immediately decided I would not use this company.

Their secretary called me the next day to say, "we have you scheduled for Tuesday of next week." This was Thursday, and I was busy and thought she was from another tiling company. After realizing my mistake, I called her back immediately and told her not to cash the check, and not to schedule me.

Well, I should have stopped payment on the check rather than hold them in good faith that she (Lori) would call me back and let me know. ( I stupidly did not stop payment on the check thinking that it may mess their banking up, and didn't want to be an ass to these 'nice' people).

Today, 2 weeks later I still have not gotten my money back. They cashed the check, and the president of the company, Greggor, has told me that they do not give cash refunds and that he will not return my money! (and the estimator, Joseph, "no longer works for th company").
I now have to pursue legal action against this company to get my $550. It appears that this company is THAT hard up for cash that they even want money from people who they haven't done any work with! And they think they can get away with it even without my signature on any contract.

If you use this company for anything, you have to be crazy, esp after reading this.
