I had recently, and unfortunatly got a loan through cash call. I was making my payments on time with no problems, and then at the end of May I got into some financial trouble where it became hard for me to put out extra at that time to cover my loan payment. So I missed the loan payment and I know that I was in default, I needed some time to catch up to other bills, and would of resumed payments with cashcall after the month was over. So I started getting the calls, threats, and nasty personel that they sick on you for defaulting, as expected, then they started leaving nasty messages on my work voice mail stating things like, "we are calling about your loan that you are in default with", ect. I was able to get a really guy on the phone there and work out a payment situation with them, and I honored it, and I am caught up now. Heres where this gets messy; I found out that they called former employers of mine, whom happen to be rather close friends to me, one employer has a partner whom Im kinda friends with more so than a work relationship, he is located in Las Vegas, He called me and said theres a company Called Cash Call looking for you, and he gave me the number to call them, I told him I allready straightend it out, and it was a mistake, I told him this because I was embarrassed and didnt want him to know that I defaulted on a loan, much less it wasnt anything I wanted to share with him. So weeks go by and I called my former employer, cause Like I said we are more friendly than anything , I called to shoot the breeze and chat. HE ASKS ME, SO WHY DID THOSE PEOPLE CALL YOU AGAIN? i SAID OH, I OWED THEM SOME LEFT OVER MONEY FROM THE LOAN I THOUGHT I PAID OFF AND THEY WERE LOOKING FOR ME TO PAY IT , IT WAS ONLY $35.00 . HE SAYS , I KNOW THATS NOT TRUE, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LIE TO ME? I SAID IM NOT, THEN HE CALLS HIS SECRETARY IN AND ASKS HER WHILE IM ON THE PHONE, HOW MUCH DID YOUR HUSBAND TELL YOU HE OWED? SHE SAID , " HE TOLD ME HE TOOK A $5,000.00 LOAN OUT IN FEBRUARY, AND DEFAULTED ON IT ONLY AFTER A FEW MONTHS IN MAY. I SAID WHO IS THAT AND HOW DOES SHE KNOW ABOUT MY LOAN, (MY EX BOSS IS IN VEGAS), HE SAYS HER HUSBAND WORKS FOR CASH CALL HERE IN VEGAS, AND HE LOOKED UP YOUR LOAN FOR ME SO I COULD FIND OUT WHY THEY WERE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!!!! I didnt say a word, I ended the phone call shortly there after, and I am still very angry that my information was given out like this. Can anyone tell me what recourse I have and what I can do about this please. Remember Im not in default of my loan at this time, this is not why i want retaliation, i am currently loan payment wise in good standing with cash call, however i do not want to let them get away with this.

I'm not sure if there's much point in retaliating against a company that might be going under. they're having serious financial trouble right now (it's called karma).

When you pay off your loan, be sure to request confirmation that the loan is closed out with a zero balance with a Registered Letter with Return Receipt. If you don't they'll probably leave a token amount due then apply 3 months of late fees and interest which will accrue to around $500.
