I took a loan from GFSIL last September 2008 for $300. I have paid them over $1200 in service fees ($68) a pay. They are clever in their tactics in that they send emails to my place of employement stating the loan will be renewed automatically if I reply and to be more convenient the loan will be renewed if I do not want to reply.
If I do reply, asking them not to take money and or what is the balance, my computer sends me an error message. I talked with our tech guys and they said I am not replying to an actual email address, it is an address to a computer system that just checks to see if their notice was delivered. So whether I click on their link or not my loan still get renewed for $68.
There website sucks, wwwgfsil.com, there is not information other than phone numbers. I faxed them a letter, several times, asking for a copy of my payments and balance, a copy of their license and a copy of their physical address. Their response was they are not able to provide me with the requested information.
Last year I switched bank and two payment were returned, "NFS due to the account being closed". Well, they called my employer and each time using a different reason for the call, as I informed my employer these people (GSFIL) are crooked. Luckily my employer was compassionate and did not discipline me.
Sadly, I spoke with Cathy from GFSIL and agreed to new terms and gave them my new account info. Well, it bit me in the a$$ and why was I so stupid, they did not abide by the new terms and it is costing my a fortune. Long store short, my bank, for $30, will place a stop payment for any withdraws by GFSIL. The "stop payment" is good for six months and in that time I hope to have my complaints file with the Ohio AG, the BBB and anyone else who can help me.
I do find it interesting that GSFIL has people working for it that barely speak english but have names like Cathy Jone, Matthew Smith, etc.
