The online ad stated that if I mailed in my pieces of unwanted gold and jewelry, they would process and make me an offer. If I did not accept their offer they would send my merchandise back and send me a thirty dollar check for giving them a chance to win my business.
I called two weeks later after mailing, and reminded them that their brochure stated they would do a 24 hour check mailing after it was processed. I was told that they had received my package and it was in processing. This was on 7/21/2011.
On 8/03/2011, I was told my package was being processed in Florida and they would send an email ASAP. I called again on 8/08/2011, 8/10/2011, 8/15/2011, 8/30/2011, and 9/27/2011each time I was told the same thing except for the last time when I was told that they were under new management and they would get to me as soon as possible. It is now October and I have not received any comment, offer, check, or my merchandise back. I called the telephone number again on today 10/20/2011, and the number is disconnected. How about that!

Prestige Gold Buyers Site now says
"Unfortunately due to financial issues arising from overwhelming popularity, Prestige Gold Buyers is winding down its operations."
What kind of balls does it take for some welfare &@^^#% to say, we had sooooooo many customers that we had to go out of business.
Wow.

They'll just open up under a new name in a few weeks. As long as there are people who will actually put precious metals in an envelope and mail them to someone they don't know, there will be folks on the other end that will be happy to receive it.
If you'd told me 10 years ago that you could persuade someone to fill an envelope with gold and send it off to God know where, I'd have called you a liar. P.T. Barnum has got to be rolling around in his grave with laughter.

How stupid do you have to be to pop your valuables into an envelope and mail them off to a total stranger!
Are you kidding me??
Did you photograph and itemize your valuables?
Did you send by a certified or registered means, with insurance??
These scams only survive because of all of the totally gullible and stupid people out there.
***COMMON SENSE***
