I made a wager on betus.com and won. When I requested a payout, they refused and instead told that I needed to bet more money in order to request a payout because I had received a small "bonus" at the time of signup. NOWHERE in betus.com's terms of service does it state that players who receive a bonus are required to bet a certain amount and there is no formula to even calculate how much needs to be bet in order to receive a payout. The facts are that I deposited 300 and got a small 30 dollar bonus. I never touched or used the free bonus money and I informed betus that I had no intention of using their bonus. I told them to keep their lousy bonus and simply payout my winnings made from my deposit. Of course they refused. Since consumers have no one to protect us from shady offshore companies like betus, I finally just kept betting and betting (and winning) until I satisfied their unwritten rule about wagering enough to make them happy before requesting a payout. Well finally the payout arrived, but then like clockwork I get a call from my credit card company telling me that someone is using my credit card account to make all kinds of online purchases. Well I closed the credit card account but not until after these thieves tried to buy thousands of dollars in merchandise as well as used my name and credit card information to ship packages internationally. Betus did not safeguard my identity an thereby allowed my identity to fall into the hands of thieves. There are so many numerous complaints about Betus, please do your homework and avoid this company. There's plenty of better places to wager such as bodog, etc.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

THERE IS ONE PLACE TO GO protecting your rights with online gambling companies

AUTHOR: Big Jake - (United States of America)

Hi,

Noticed your story during another online search and think I can help you or anyone that's reading this.  I was a victim of a sportsbook similar to BetUS but luckily found a source to help and continue helping me as I play online.

Realistically, there are no laws governing the fine print associated with sign-up bonuses for online sportsbooks.  The guys at the Off Shore Gaming Association (OSGA) went to work pleading my case and got back to me really quick.  I think their website is www.osga.com.  They're sort of a "Better Business Bureau" helping resolve disputes and offer advice.  The books don't want to piss them off because they fear getting a negative rating on their website.  Anyway...they helped me out and I learned a great lesson.

First of all, always ask "the rollover rules" when you receive any type of bonus.  Not defending BetUS, but this could have happened at many places.  In fact, read some of the sports gambling websites.  BoDog currently has one of the worst reputations.

The sportsbook disputes are almost always about payoffs.  I was laughing talking with OSGA, learning about how the creative methods these books discover to deposit your money

The best thing that came out of my experience with the OSGA was thankfully keeping them in mind for later on when they helped me out with a much more serious, costly dispute.  Anyway... can't be naive and figure I can win every case but it's nice to know I DO HAVE A PLACE TO GO!

Until we get real legalization and regulation here in the US, all kinds of unfair (and maybe illegal) crap is going to take place for players.  Before I potentially get into trouble and IF I get into any trouble I talk with the OSGA to level things out.
