I made the mistake of walking into the AT&T Wireless store located at 2785 Eldorado Parkway in Little Elm Texas.  My goal was to upgrade my cell phone.  A sales rep by the name of Dan set me up with a phone and a plan (that turned out to cost twice as much as he told me it would).  I was skeptical, but he assured me that if I was unhappy for any reason, I could return the phone and cancel my service within the fist 30 days and owe nothing.  On this premise, I purchased a plan and phone.

The first week into service with AT&T it was clear that their coverage was inferior to Boost Mobile's.  Dropped calls, static, no bars, it was a pain.  On top of that, the supposed "best windows phone on the market" (an HTC Surround) that came highly recommended by Dan the sales man, was inferior to say the least.  Poor volume, no battery life and constant crashes made my life h**l.

Obviously unhappy, I returned the phone to the store, and was again assured by Dan that I was within my grace period and would owe nothing.  A week later, I received a bill for $136.00 (for a supposed $69 plan that I had had for 10 days).  When I contacted AT&T's billing department, I was informed that since I returned the phone within the grace period, that I did not owe the bill.  In fact, I was told that I could throw that bill away.

Two weeks later, I received another bill.  This time for over $500.  To make matters worse, I called AT&T to upgrade my home internet service (whom I've had with them for over 3 years) and was told that because I had an "outstanding balance with the wireless department" that they could not upgrade me.  Yet, they'd be happy to continue to take my money on my current bundle account as usual...

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH AT&T WIRELESS.  They are a bunch of crooks.
