Bill Maroe Golive / Verizon Billing for "premium texting" by Verizon to the benefit of Golive.com that were unsolicited (we did not sign up for) Mesa, Arizona

just talked to verizon rep for the 2nd time regarding erroneous charges ($11.03 per mo) that started back in april 2009 on a family plan. as i only check autopay every 3 or 4 months, this slipped through. she claimed we had to sign up for the golive service and that once activated we would be charged monthly. she also assumed it was my child who had done it, wherein she was told it was a line that was used by my 46 yr old brother strictly for texting and voice. the charges started in april, skipped may and have been consistent monthly ever since, to which she had no explanation.

on both calls to customer service we were given the steps to text on our phone to stop the service. i had to get a little stinky to get the second call rep to offer to block the availability of such "(dis)services" from all the phones on the plan. these services should be automatcally locked out unless the user agrees to open it up. my thoughts are it should be an online or other paperwork process. as of today there is no satisfaction from verizon and golive is impossble to contact. my question is; how much distress has this caused to people and families? easy money right? 20 million verizon customers, get x amount per month even if for one month, and greatly improve margins. conjecture on my part.
