This individual failed to properly disclose a restocking fee prior to selling a mobile phone charger. When we attempted to return it for a refund, he insisted on a restocking fee even though this was not adequately disclosed at the time of sale, there is no customer signature acknowledging the terms and the terms themselves are contradictory (saying "full refund of purchase price" in one section and "may be charged a restocking fee" in another).

The charger obviously had not be opened (much less used). This person stated that he was not going to discuss it, and that he would only issue a refund with a restocking fee or offer an exchange without a restocking fee.  When we pressed for an explanation after noting the points above, he started to get very short with me -- in front of family members including a 6 -year old daughter. He said that he would not discuss it and that he had no way of knowing whether the package had been opened or not. When I showed him that the package was clearly still factory intact, he grabbed it from my hands and started to open it saying, "these just open up, there is no sealing."  I took hold of the package telling him not to open it, as that would make it look like I had opened it. He would not release the package and told me to let go immediately. He became very irate. I told him it was not his property and he shoved the package in my hands, called me a profane name and told me to leave as I was now trespassing and that he was calling the police. All of this behavior over a simple $30 charger that was being returned for a refund as per the invoice terms.

He started to call the police, and I asked for his full name. He showed me his name badge and noted that "he was the owner of the place."  He scared the two family members I had with me, and so we left.

Information

AUTHOR: Jon Farrar - (United States of America)

Please note that before any refund is performed we must be allowed to inspect the product.  Per the customer's report we were not allowed to inspect the product.

It is impossible to determine if the charger had been used simply by looking at the packaging.  We do not seal any of our chargers in blister packaging for customer convenience.  Many customers wish to purchase a charger and begin using it immediately and hard sealed blister packaging is more frustrating than useful.  It would have be easy to inspect and upon viewing the item in an unused condition it would have been refunded in full.  I initially told them of the restocking fee because on his wife's previous visit and on this visit they mentioned both times it was used but no longer needed.

The customer is still welcome to visit the store and act in an civil manner.  Upon allowing me to open the unsealed item it can be inspected and if unused a full refund could be issued.  Per the customers own statement he took the product from me before I was allowed to perform any inspection.

#2 Ex-Employee

Jon Farrar is not a GoWireless employee

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

To set the record straight, Jon Farrar is not a GoWireless store manager. I'll give you a little back story to help you out. Jon Farrar became a Premium Retailer for Verizon Wireless under the business name "Texas Wireless" a few years back. When his business started going belly-up, he called his best friend (Kevin Elders, owner of GoWireless and begged him to help Jon out. This was all under the premise that Jon would get back on his feet and purchase the stores back from Kevin. He still identifies his store as a Texas Wireless.

Jon Farrar has a history of taking advantage of customers and mistreating employees. When he shut down his company, several of his employees were wrongfully terminated prior to the GoWireless switch. These terminations were based off weather he liked the person or not. If there is any question in your mind of weather this man is an unscrupulous character, go back to his store and ask yourself why he is the only employee there other than his wife (who is also not a GoWireless employee).

For future business, please find an actual GoWireless.
