I purchased a Samsung Moment from Sprint on November 11.  Over the course of a few weeks the defects of the phone became unbearable.  The following are the defects:

AGPS is non functional (wireless location based service).

Wireless WPA Enterprise mode is non functional (other phones do work such as the HTC Hero).

Audio distortion and loud pops.  The loud pop occurs when the speaker is turned on for dialing.  The audio distortion happens for 1 second or more during initial playback of audio.

The battery indicator does not accurately indicate charge.

The MIC on the phone is turned off when headphones are plugged in.

I talked to Sprint and the advanced technical support supervisor stated that as long as I can make calls, get voice mail and the sprint applications work, anything else is an OEM problem, meaning Samsung.  Samsung says call Sprint.  The phone is branded as a Sprint.  I'm left with a very expensive phone that does not work as promised.

30 Day Return

AUTHOR: Roger - San Francisco (U.S.A.)

If you are within the 30 Day Return Period, then you can return that phone or exchange it for another. Keep in mind, if you exchange the phone for another make or model (ie, going from Samsung Moment to HTC Hero) there is a fee to exchange. If you stay within the same make and model, there is no fee to exchange.

If you wait till after the 30 Day period, your best bet is to call for support, go to a repair center, and have the phone exchanged for a "refurbished" phone. I do not believe in refurbished phones being issued to people who just bought a phone, that was defective within 90 days of original purchase, I think its deceptive. You paid for a NEW phone, and you should be reissued a NEW phone if it has not dropped price already.

Please take my information to heart, and hurry to a store and get the exchange.
