T-Mobile $50 Mail in rebate ripoff Albuquerque New Mexico

This is not an isolated incident.
I purchased a T-Mobile branded phone from a T-Mobile mall store. It included a $50 mail in rebate. I filled out every form and included everything necessary. I triple checked every item and sent in the rebate.
A couple months later I received a letter saying that my submission was incomplete because I didn't include the original UPC from the phone packaging. Of course, I did and have the torn up box to prove it. Unfortunately that's all I have to prove it because I didn't make a copy of it before I sent it in.
I called the rebate hotline and they confirmed what the letter said. I insisted that I included the UPC, but of course I can't prove it. The operator was very abrupt and rude and said if I don't have a copy of the UPC then there was nothing he can do.
How convenient! It's a brilliant business plan - convince customers to make purchases based on a rebate. Then, don't give it to them and say that they didn't include the one thing that they can't prove! I'm extremely disappointed in T-Mobile. This is so shady. I've been a T-Mobile customer for almost 10 years, but I'm not sure I'll make it to 11.
Beware of any promised rebates from T-Mobile!

I had a problem with a mail-in rebate as well. They told me that I had not completed the rebate form as well. I called and after I spoke with someone at the Rebate company, they told me that I had filled out the wrong form. It was a mess, but I kept calling every few days or so to harass them.
It took about 6 months but I eventually got my rebate!
