As with any college or university, the transfer of credits is completely at the discretion of the institution you are transferring to. Although there are a number of schools that will accept transferred Charter College credits, some do not – this information is readily available to our students. In regards to your comments about our faculty: all of our instructors are fully educated and trained, with a minimum of three years of professional experience, and dedicated to preparing Charter College students to pursue their careers. If even U of A in Wasilla does not accept credits from your institution, then that says it all.

I already contacted your college, they gave me the same bs, so the only way you can fix this is to pay off my student loan, because now all those credits are worthless, and I do not want to go to another charter college.

Both my husband and I are graduates from Charter College Anchorage Campus. We were both informed when we applied that Charter College was a "nationally accredited" College, and that we'd be able to use our degrees from Charter if we ever decided to take our educations further.

I attempted to transfer credits to a state college earlier this year, and they informed me that a "National" Accreditation is NOT recognized by most institutions of higher learning. A few "online" colleges, and vocational schools MIGHT accept transfer credit from Charter, but most Universities and Colleges only accept credit from "Regionally" accredited schools. Charters "National" accreditation seriously restricts your options for continuing your education past Charter.  My husband, Who received two bachelors degrees from Charter, and graduated with honors, has been severely restricted in his options for graduate school, most of which will not accept Charter's lower level accreditation.

We both acquired good jobs from the degrees we received at Charter. If you just want a degree to get you a good job, and have no ambitions for graduate school or to change your degree, Charter is a good choice. However if you are planning to take you education further, or are military and need credits that are more likely to transfer, I would seriously consider forgoing Charter and going to a regionally accredited College or University were your credits will be more likely to transfer. I also believe that Charter should have to publicly state on there website "Credits are unlikely to transfer" like other institutions (like ITT Tech) that have the same National Accreditation have done. 
 

Check with the college or university that you plan on going to. They may have an option for credit for prior learning. Your credits may not do a direct transfer, but if you can get your transcripts from Charter, compare classes passed with classes at the college or university you want to go to, you can make your case that you already taken the class and should get credit for it. Not all universities do this, so you want to check first. It doesn't hurt to ask.
