My husband and I were really impressed when we toured the Winter Springs Center because the facility looks very clean and the director seemed very organized and on top of things.  Then we met Heather, who mans the front desk and who for whatever reason has made it clear that our business is not wanted there.  We paid the enrollment fee to hold a spot for our child and afterwards I asked Heather for an information packet / parents handbook (something similar to what ALL of the other daycare facilities had readily handed us when we toured other centers).  She told me that they were out and that more were on the way from the printers, but that she would send me a copy once they were in.  I found that odd, but waited a week and then e-mailed her asking for status.  She again told me that for some reason they were still "held up at the printers."  I let another couple of weeks pass and sent her yet another e-mail, asking this time if she could just send me the information I had been requesting as a PDF file that I could just print out myself.  She ignored the e-mail, so I finally called to find out what the problem was.  She told me she had sent me the e-mail already.  I checked my e-mail and saw nothing at all from her.  Keep in mind, I know she has my correct e-mail address since I had been e-mailing her and she had responded.  So I called her back and, giving her the benefit of the doubt, asked her if she could send the e-mail again since, for "some odd reason," I never got the one she had allegedly already sent.  She said she would and of course, never did.  So after having been blatantly lied to several times in a row by Heather, I couldn't help but wonder what else she would be willing to lie to us about.  Naturally, I have told her to throw out our enrollment application and so we are out $75.  I was totally astounded that she would just lie to us so nonchalantly, without any apparent qualms or remorse.  Instead of apologizing or explaining that she hadn't gotten around to addressing our request because she had been busy, etc., she simply insisted that she had sent me an e-mail that she had obiviously never sent.  It was like something out of the Casey Anthony trials.  Obviously I'd have to be a fool to drop my daughter off at a center that is co-run by someone who reminds me of a woman currently on trial for murder 1.  I thought at first it was the weirdest thing ever that she would do such a horrible job of handling such a simple request, almost as if she WANTED us to take our $10k per year elsewhere.  I figure the only thing that makes sense is that they never did have a spot open for my child and just didn't bother to tell me, so that they could pocket the non-refundable enrollment fee, and then figured they would "correct" the problem by pissing me off to the point of telling them to withdraw my application.  Well it worked.  So my advice to you is to make sure you get a good vibe from ALL of the people there and that you have all of the written information you need to make an informed decision about the place before giving them your money.  Though since these are people that profit from ripping off parents to be for their hard-earned money, I would advise not to enroll your child there at all.

As a mother to two children, both in the Ladybird Academy Winter Springs/Oviedo Campus, I am astounded at the comments of the last individual. I have been in this subburb of Orlando my entire life and had many personal and referral dealings with numerous childcare centers in the area. Ladybird Academy was the one center to which every parent involved was more than satisfied.

Please let me state somets previously noted by the author of this false report:

#1 - She compared Heather to a woman who is on trial for 1st Degree Murder becuase there was a miscommunication in the delivery of a "Welcome Packet." If you want to make your point, please use a more intellectual leap. Heather has always helped my family and I to whatever degree was in her means. To compare her to that henious individual is ridiculous and absurd.

#2 - When you send in a "Non-Refundable Deposit," it is just that, non-refundable. You came to the decision to make your deposit by meeting the director and enjoying her, becoming satisfied enough with the center in comaprison to the surrounding ones, and choosing this facility for its overall cleanliness and maintenance. This decision was yours, and yours alone to make. No one forced you to write that check to guarantee your child that position. A deposit to hold a place for a child is standard practice in the Child Care Center arena. After making the decision to hold a spot for your child, you then became irritated enough to unenroll your child over a Welcome Packet. You consiously made this decision on your own to lose that non-refundable deposit by unenrolling your child, no one deceived you or stole your money. Most parents would have held a decision as important as the hiring for the care of there child until they have reviewed ALL aspects of the center, including the print to which they merrit their claims.

When you look at what the facts are, that you asked for a welcome packet and did not receive one, and then to see where your Rip Off Report lead to, is very misleading for this business, and the employee to which you are degrading.

I hope that the intelligent consumer will look at the positive feedback from numerous resources at other review websites, will use there own sound judgement of the overall quailty of this facility versus the neighboring facilities, and will make there own decision based on that. Please do not let this irrational indivdual persuade you.

Ladybird Academy is a Top Notch Preschool

As a mother of 3, all of whom attend Ladybird, I have nothing but positive things to say about the preschool. My children have attended since their opening day and absolutely love going. The assistant (Heather) & Director (Tracia) are professional, friendly & truly care about every child. The teachers are warm & caring and love working with children. I find it odd for a person to complain about the school before their child has even started there. I was shocked that this parent compared Heather to Casey Anthony over an information packet? If you want a quality school where your children are well cared for with advanced curriculum, Ladybird is your place. If you are a parent that likes to complain about non-sense, take your child somewhere else!

Appalled!

A co-worker of mine brought this to my attention today since I take my child to this facility. After reading it and thinking about it I have realized I am truly bothered about some of your comments. I can understand your frustrations; however, I am appalled that you are comparing your experience with this facility to the Casey Anthony Murder Trial. You should be ashamed of yourself. The trial is about the death of an innocent child and not the issue of dealing with enrollment forms and $75.00. I cannot even believe you had the nerve to compare the two.

I have dealt with Heather on several occasions and have only had wonderful interactions with her and feel she is great and trustworthy. I have watched her interact with other parents and their children and feel she is a great asset to the center. She has always gone above and beyond the call of her duty. I feel 100% comfortable every morning I drop my child off. I can with
full confidence say Heather is not going to pull a “Casey Anthony”. Oh yeah sweetie. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

A person with commonsense would normally make sure they have all their forms needed before giving anyone any cash. Your comment comparing your experience to a trial dealing with the death (murder) of child only leaves me to believe you have absolutely no common sense. Shame on you for comparing  the two.

 

To anyone reading this I hope that you would not take this persons opinion. Especially, since she has compared it to a murder trial. I only can laugh as I say that. Really! You are comparing it to a murder trial. Wow, you have some serious issues. This facility came highly recommended to me and couldn’t be happier about my child attending. While this person is claiming
they did not have room for her child. A mutual co-worker toured the facility yesterday and they do have room for her children and she will be enrolling them to attend this coming year.

We are saddened to hear of your thoughts regarding your experience with Ladybird Academy Winter Springs.  Please know that integrity is paramount for Heather and all individuals within our rganization.  We have left messages to discuss your concern with hopes of providing you with clarity around your original request for marketing booklets.  If given the opportunity, we are confident this clarity will provide you with the reassurance that the requested information was emailed on June 16th at 5:24pm and again at 5:59pm after speaking with Mr. Roemling.  It was also sent on June 17th at 1:26pm, but unfortunately does not seem to have been received by you.  We would like to confirm that we do, indeed currently have availability in the requested infant room and remain available to any interested parent.



We value the opportunity to grow with each child entrusted to us in these critical stages of life.  We look forward to hearing from you, if you are interested in gaining full clarity around this situation.
